O ESTADO LAICO E OS DIREITOS INDIVIDUAIS

(The Secular State and individual rights)

Nem bem articulavam-se as estratégias bélicas da Revolução Francesa e Diderot já estandardizava a frase (idéia) que lhe arremeteria para a imortalidade: “o mundo será melhor quando o último padre for enforcado nas tripas do último rei”. Esta frase, ou melhor: idéia, “a uma só cajadada” visava fulminar os principais inimigos da jovem e revoltada burguesia: a monarquia e a religião.

Marx, profundo estudioso da Revolução Francesa, declarará “ad perpetuam” que “a religião é o ópio do povo”... e a burguesia, que mais tarde reabilitará a monarquia como nova aliada para enfrentar o proletariado triunfante, perpetrará o “Estado Laico”.
